actually the trip was quite long and i actually dont really remember what i did on day 4 – 8, they say people usually remember the first and last thing of … things you do, so i remember day 9, but ya, for now i’ll refer to my google cal to refresh my memory…

looks like i kinda left of at end of day 2, SO, day 3, i’m pretty sure we didn’t do what we originally planned to do on monday which is go to Top of the Rock, MoMA (museum of modern art) and Grand Central station, i think we actually switched with wednesday’s schedule, so let’s stick with that

monday – day 3, we went to the American History Museum in the morning, walked in from the space museum entrance actually, and watched a space show starring whoopi goldberg first thing, then walked around this massive 5 floor animal/dinosaur museum, this is where they filmed a night in the museum movie with ben stiller, and this museum is pretty awesome, super cool animals models, giant dino bones, we took like 5 hrs to walk through this place, which is a lot longer than originally scheduled, and… i actually have no idea what we did after this wow, i’ll have to come back to this day in the next post

tuesday – day 4, we woke up earlier because we wanted to go take the cruise to go see statue of liberty and ellis island, first boat leaves at 830 so we tried to wake up at 730, of course that didn’t happen and we got there at 930 instead, and there was a huge line up already (just like every other touristy thing in NYC), good thing for our city pass we get to skip most of the line ups and go straight to security line up – they check your like you’re going on the plane, xray, metal detector, belts off, everything, and then you go on a boat! the statue was actually smaller than i expected, got to go inside and look at the history of building the statue, and… that’s pretty much it, what else am i gonna say, it’s a giant green statue, go look at my flickr pics later. Next off to ellis island, this is the immigrants first stop before go into US back in the days, now it’s another museum, showing how people get into the US, most came in, some did not, either they were sick or not fit to work etc, and gets shipped back to where they came from, also ate pretzel with mustard for the first time, because apparently it’s the thing to do, and it wasn’t very tasty, especially the pretzel was like the saltiest pretzel ever made in life. After the tour (btw statue and ellis island tour takes about 4 – 5 hrs depending how long you stay at each spot), we went to look for the famous bull statue in wall street since we were already downtown/financial district (?), we took the subway up for 1 stop to go to wall st, and ended up walking back to where we got on the subway b/c that’s where the bull statue is! sigh, and there’s 349832 people waiting to take pics, so i also took pic of them until i took a pic of racquelle lol. We watched lion king that night, our first broadway show, and it was awesome, i totally recommend everyone to go watch it when it’s here in vancouver in july

at least that’s what i think what we did in day 4… btw i totally recommend the city pass to anyone’s first time visit to NYC, totally save money and line skipping is the freaking best thing, pair it with 1 week subway pass, you’re all set for being a tourist

we left friday night around 1030 pm, and flight was only 4.5 hours surprisingly, so it was good and bad, we had to try to sleep because we got a city tour at 10am est, and we were arriving at 6:30am est, and it worked out somewhat, though i thought it was kinda odd they were serving hot meals on such a short flight, at like 12 or 1am

we took the taxi cause i wasn’t sure how to take the subway to time square yet and ended up paying like $55 for the ride ;/ we dropped off our luggage at the big apple hostel right in time square, ate breakfast, and head off to the 6 hr city tour (been up for since 330 am vancouver time), long story short, way too many things to see, too much walking lol, but the tour was definitely a good start for the trip, and treated ourselves for anniv dinner fancy steak at del friscos at 945pm cause the wait was like an hr plus at 830 still, ppl like to eat their steak late

2nd time, not wasting any valuable time, we went to b&h in the morning to get my camera stuff, this camera/electronic store is freakin huge and amazing, i mean, it uses a conveyor belt system! and there’s so much stuff in store there’s only products on shelves and no stock! you look, choose what you want, and go to like a counter and order your stuff in store, then you take your order form and go pay, and pick up your stuff before you leave by the exit! what a crazy awesome shopping system, i picked up my r-strap (rs7), giotto blower (large), and domke camera bag (black f8 small bag), i had this salesperson telling me, if you have too much money to throw away, get domke, otherwise, get crumpler, because “crumpler is about half the price as domke”, what a liar, my domke bag was just like 10 bux more than the 4 mil dollar bag (which is what i originally wanted if they had the green in stock)

man the park is closing and i cant finish this, so we went on a food tour after, ate lots of cool food, faicco’s has some super awesome deep fried risotto ball, joe’s pizza has the best new york pizza in the city (so they say), murrays cheese shop has too many kinds of cheese, and lots more,

soho is super shopping area, i love uniqlo it’s the best store, and today we went to see statue of liberty and ellis island, the statue was smaller than i expected, i dunno why maybe in the movies it always supersized, and century 21 is a crazy 6 floor winner with even better stuff, like a giant nordstrom rack, with a million people in it

and i can’t stop sniffing

it will be back, with a new groove, soon? my march is kinda empty, but i also gotta play heavy rain, ff13, and sc2, and more

saturday me and kei went to the Lights concert, never been to a concert at the commodore, man it’s small and i was so close on the floor even though i’m probably not close at all, and you know why i hate floor? because i’m not tall, tall ppl owned you, like there’s this GIANT dood who just randomly squeeze through and stood RIGHT IN FRONT of us before the concert is about to start, and everyone was just like WTF DOOD, and he’s like don’t worry man i’m trying to get to the front, follow me and you’ll get to the very front too (and he does in the end, wtf), in the end i wish i had a table and i can sit and watch, and also i wish i didn’t buy that one bottle of sleeman so i could’ve cash to buy a her record as concert goodie, i have to/always do, buy a concert goodie for every concert i go, soooo lame, stupid beer screwd me over

Lights is pretty awesome though, she was rocking it with her keytar, she had many cool songs, after going to her concert, i’ve just been listening to her cd non stop, maybe she’s bringing me back to the eng music world

i also got owned by my memory card, because when i was recording some hd vids, my camera told me recording had to be stopped because the memory card speed was too slow, fooook, time to get a sandisk extreme III sdhc, and maybe a better camera because i couldn’t get any non-blurred shots either… sigh ;/

and man i dunno why the image thumb shows up fine, and i see the photo when i ftp connect, but if i click to see fullsize image i get error, gaaahhh
