on the air

yesterday i didn’t listen to beat the bills on the best 94.5 at 5pm, and i thought maybe just like 0.0001% chance it’d be me, so i actually tried and called into the station, and then on 2nd try holly conway said hello to me, and i said nothing for 5 seconds (because i didn’t think i’d get thru, no one ever gets thru to the radio station unless you call like 20 times), and then i said who did they say for beat the bills, and she asked me name, and then my last name, and then she said (which she knew already when i said my name) no not me

i wonder what i sounded like on the air, but my first instinct is i probably sounded like an idiot like half of the people that calls the station, though i should’ve tried to get some free swag

Dear Yu Lun,

We’re thrilled to offer you a role for an upcoming Sport Event (for example 2009 World Cup, Canada Cup or Championship)!

The position we’d like to offer you is:

Job Title: Crs. Crew Slipper (HP/PGS)
Venue*: CYPRESS MOUNTAIN
Functional Area: SNOWBOARD/FREESTYLE SKIING

*Please see the table below to find out which venue is hosting which sports.

Volunteering for a 2009 sport event is a fantastic way to build your volunteer portfolio and gain experience working at the same venues where the Games will be held in 2010.

Crew Slipper: (the closest definition i could find, i kinda forgot myself)

The Slip Crew side-slips on skis to keep the race course in as smooth as possible, free of ruts and loose snow.

Slippers are expert skiers capable of high speed, carefully controlled side-slipping on steep, icy slopes. However, course slippers need to be much more than just strong skiers and a great deal of training, knowledge and experience is needed to be a good slipper at the World Cup level. The slip crew needs to know how to respond to Jury requests and how to execute exactly what is required. It is not easy to do under race conditions.

of course i’ll be snowboarding instead, and i said yes
