i’ve been eating out a lot more lately, mostly cause meeting up with people, or just lazy, i have to do grocery, then cook, the wash, eating is probably 1/5 of the total time, but eating out isn’t cheap, go anywhere it’s easily 10 bux a person, or maybe in chinese/viet restaurant you can get away with like 7 or 8 bux, and it’s usually me and the gf, so that’s 2x the price
ie. we went to aberdeen food court the other day, and we ordered from the place with super (oily) tasty wings, 6 wings + bowl of noodles + curry fishballs + apple tea = around 16, that’s about the same as going to jap restaurant (ie. torarenbo) and me getting a tenzaru and racquelle getting a lunchbox, but you have to add tax and tips too, OR, the other day we went to meat at bob’s sub, and we shared a 6″ super sub and a poutine = 9.50 – that’s cheaper than 2 meals fastfood (oh and we saw dustin there, he freakin ordered 2 foot long super sub, one for dinner and the other for next day), so it varies
this week we said to go grocery shopping so we can make our mushroom porkchops, so i went to safeway, and since i havn’t gone grocery for a while, i just started to grab bunch of random things – mushrooms, porkchops, found some steak for deals (2 for $7), organic salad, frozen pizza, pasta sauce, breakfast stuff etc, in the end it came up to be about $70, and then yesterday i went to tnt, and i ended up spending another $40 on vegetables, tofu, fish balls, random snacks etc, so that’s like $110 worth of grocery (for 2 people i guess), and this is probably the most i ever spent (i just grab things sometimes, and dont think about it ;/ in the end at least it’s food you’ll eat, not random junk)
now how long is this amount of food is going to last me, more healthy for sure, but that’s also a lot of cooking and cleaning, and doesn’t seem to improve my cooking skills because i always make the same things
i did get these super awesome meiji fran whipps, they look super good
