so, i switched to vista about 3 days ago…

end of discussion, period

hah well my comp was going nuts, and it was overdue for a format anyway, so here’s the result so far (running vista ultimate – with aero, on amd athlon 64 3400+, 1 gig ram, ati aiw 9800 pro):

• i have no drivers for anything except my vid car, but luckily everything worked – vid/sound/wireless/keyboard/mouse (i can’t use the extra logitech keyboard buttons though)
• guildwars runs fine ^^
• photoshop i dont know yet
• it comes with a billion windows something program that i dont need
• i didn’t know how to use the system when it was first installed, seriously, i didn’t know where to click to find stuff, start menu is all changed again
• apparently my phone software won’t work (said so from the check) so we’ll see when i installed it
• it uses like 10 gig i think, and more resources too, but atleast task manager tells you what each process do
• it supports resume on download! (maybe that’s ie7 though)
• aero is… kinda cool? and it comes with gadgets on the side, just like mac
• oh and i like windows media player too, surprisingly

more to come later, atleast it hasn’t crashed on me yet

man you can’t change like… stuff in your start menu, and even moving things into a folder requires “admin privilege”, everything requires double confirmation almost, and a lot of times after i installed something, it’d say “this did not install properly would you like to reinstall?” and i go, “no it did install properly”, or “this program has stopped working”, “ok”, go vista
